Wearstlerworld,

I just launched my very first collection of outdoor ceramics, with Serax. I have always been totally in love with plants and gardens… no surprise here, but I tend towards the very sculptural… and really feel they are a completely irreplaceable element of design. They literally bring life to spaces. And, they are something that also forces you to tend to, and care for something, which I think is an important discipline.

(In our old Malibu home, it was a huge ficus tree that sat at the center of everything.)

So, today, I wanted to give you my gardening essentials, and also connect you with Eric Wareheim, who runs the insane plant studio Serpentine, here in LA. (Because ‘plant nursery’ doesn’t seem to capture how much Eric puts into the sourcing of ceramics, the eye he uses to pair plant and pot, and his designer’s attitude when it comes to the role they play in our lives.)
