A first Wearstlerworld interview with vanguard design duo Patric and Bryn on statement pieces and summer fashion

Vaquera was one of my favorite SS25 collections this year, and I wanted to make sure you knew these incredible designers. They’ve been showing in Paris the past few seasons and are now making a full move there from New York – and I think that’s going to mean some really big things for them.
They do exactly what I love: a bit of humor, a lot of avant-garde, always unexpected – and never chasing trends.
Building a wardrobe (or a brand, or an interior) that truly stands apart takes real work (trust me, I know!). Staying exciting, and staying authentic and unique is not easy.
Patric DiCaprio and Bryn Taubensee, the duo behind Vaquera, can do it. “Vaquera” means cowgirl, and these two have been blazing their own trail since 2013. With support from Dover Street Market and Comme des Garçons in recent years, the industry’s catching up to what many of us already knew: they’ve got serious style vision.
And so, here’s my first Wearstlerworld interview: talking about making statements this Summer, avoiding the mainstream, and how A.I. tools are shaking up creativity.
