IN FINE FORM

How not-the-usual shapes tell a story

Wearstlerworld,

Form is one of those things that can be so incredibly narrative. And because it is something you notice right away—often from a distance, even when looking at a whole room—playing with it is a powerful tool. Introducing one object with an unexpected shape to it can transform a whole space.

And, it’s the same in fashion: one element can change your whole silhouette; even just a slightly tweaked eyebrow shape can change a beauty look dramatically; or a fantastic pair of sunglasses can make a white-tee-and-jeans look immediately much cooler.

What we’re looking at today: single objects I think have a power to change spaces, florists and designers I’ve just started following who are some of the best at exploring organic form, and one-stop for designer-made hardware in all shapes and sizes.

Plus: shaping the eye with makeup, shaping the room with light, and a design tip from a recent project in Austin.
