Wearstlerworld,

Books and magazines are my obsession—constant sources of inspiration, charged with energy, transformative in a space. Bookstores, to me, are almost erotic: super-charged with ideas, covers and spines teasing, the intoxicating scent of paper and ink. I’m captivated by typography, art direction, printing techniques—it all matters.

And here’s a great travel tip: In every city I visit, bookstores are an anchor. The best ones sit in the most compelling neighborhoods, making them ideal starting points. (And why I always pack extra luggage—for the enormous books and stacks of magazines I can’t resist.)

Today’s edition is a page-turner: my favorite book and magazine sources, thoughts on hotel libraries, a peek inside my “archive room,” and the best of book: ends, stands, trays.

Plus, my advice: leave as much of an impression on your books as they do on you.
