Wearstlerworld,
Here’s what I got done in three days in Miami, a city whose galleries hit total home runs, home to some of my favorite vintage sources, and restaurants I’d kill to have open in L.A.
There is, of course, a natural ease to Miami — the city, sort of undeniably, has got a real ‘vacation’ vibe to it, and I always fall into that pretty fast. Anywhere with weather and beaches like this has to move slow in ways, simply because those things are so captivating.
At the same time, you can’t deny its energy. It’s not lazy — it’s young, sexy, ambitious, powerful. If you’re looking in the right places, there is some of the most exciting art and design, really luxe hotels, and one of the best facialists I’ve seen in a while!
It’s an incredible combination.
I’ve been coming for years; growing up in South Carolina, Miami was just down the coast. And now, it’s every December for Design Miami and Art Basel, and this time for F1, a live taping of the All-In Podcast, and the opening of the gorgeous new David Yurman store in the Design District. And, because I’m working on my game: some padel with a Spanish pro, Pablo.
So, here we go. Let me know what you’d have wanted to join me for!
